I cannot understand why President Bush is talking about being dependent on oil, and that something has to be done about that. Just what is he saying to us? He has done nothing at all but help the oil tycoons make record profits, year after year.
Face it, the people in power today are the oil people. The reason we are in Iraq today is not for protecting the American people, it is to protect the supply of oil to the United States.
I can remember only one president who was truly for alternative energy, away from being a slave to oil, and that was President Jimmy Carter.
If Americans would have followed President Carter, the world would be very different today.
Most people would say, “Where is Iraq?”
