LEWISTON – The application deadline for the second annual Community Leadership Initiative at Lewiston-Auburn College is Monday, Jan. 15.

The program, which will begin Feb. 13, is designed to help participants develop and enhance skills as community leaders.

Participants will take part in 13 sessions led by volunteer students, faculty and community leaders. Besides group projects that benefit the community, the topics include Myers-Briggs type indicator, cultural competency, power of leadership, effective communication skills, conflict management, change leadership, problem solving, stages of group development, networking, making meetings work, ethical decision-making, self direction and community leadership engagement in Lewiston-Auburn.

The Initiative will meet every Tuesday through May 15. Most sessions will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at L-A College, 51 Westminster St. The cost is $300 for yourself, but only $250 for you and a community partner such as a co-worker, a high school student, an elder or a neighbor who cannot afford to attend.
