Seniors to meet

OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Market Square Restaurant, South Paris. Dinner will be chosen from the menu. Bingo will be played. Guests and new members are welcome.

Sunday leader

NORWAY – The Sunday, Jan. 21, service at 11 a.m. at the First Universalist Church will be led by Murad Sayen. Sayen follows the Sufi religion and has the title of Shake, which he said is the equivalent of a minister. He lives in the Oxford Hills and is a writer and photographer.

Rabies clinic

CASCO – A rabies clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 20, at the South Casco Fire Station, top of Brown Avenue. Cost is $8 a cat/dog. Fee may be more for other animals. For more information, contact the Naples vet at 693-3135. Only Casco residents may license dogs at the clinic. Owners must provide proof of spay/neuter. Cost to license is $6 spay/neuter and $10 non-spay/neuter. For more information, call the town office at 627-4515.

Plan speaker

SUMNER – The Comprehensive Plan Committee will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 20, at A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm, 106 Black Mountain Road. Frank Hample, state planning office, will talk about the state’s review of the comprehensive plan and findings related to inconsistencies found with the state’s Planning and Land Use Regulation Act. The meeting is open to Sumner citizens interested in the comprehensive plan’s implementation. Contact Mary Ann Haxton at 388-2979 if planning to attend as the meeting will include lunch.

Annual meeting

WEST PARIS – The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Heritage Center. A program and coffee social will follow the business meeting.
