Barbara Varney and Marilyn Hammond of the Good Cheer Society of the First Universalist Church of Paris gave a $500 check to Chris Dowling from proceeds of a public supper held at the church on Jan. 6. The fundraiser was held to help Dowling raise $2,000 for a trip to Costa Rica his Spanish class at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School will take in April. The class will help in classrooms in Costa Rica as well as assist in other areas of need in the community.
