AUBURN – Corrie-Marie Bernatchez, 15, competed recently in the Regel Gems, East Coast Diamond Dolls and the Genuine Jewel pageants, bringing home awards and prizes.

Regel Gems was held in Worcester, Mass., and competing in gown, casual wear, swim wear, glitz photo and natural photo, Bernatchez won the ultimate supreme, emerald supreme, the overall beauty supreme and overall photogenic supreme. Prizes included cash, crowns, banners and a boom box.

At the East Coast Diamond Doll Pageant in Windsor Locks, Conn., Bernatchez competed in gown, casual wear, denim wear, swim wear and natural photo, winning the 13-to-15-age division supreme, along with prettiest eyes and prettiest hair. She received cash, crowns, banners, gifts and a plaque with her photo and winning titles.

At the America’s Genuine Jewel Pageant in Albany, N.Y., Bernatchez came away with the age 13 and up royal grand supreme title, best hair, best smile and best dressed. Winnings included cash, crown, banner, wristlet, tote bag and bath items.

In December Bernatchez went to the New England Star Pageant. There she competed in gown, natural and glitz photo, swimwear and outfit of choice, winning the age 13 to 15 junior teen supreme title. She brought home a crown, banner, cash and gifts.

Bernatchez has been in pageants since she was 1 1/2 years. She is a sophomore at Edward Little High School and is in her third year of the Big Brother Big Sister mentoring program. She was the first eighth-grade student to become a Big Sister. She is in her 12th year of bowling at Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston and she has volunteered daily at the Sherwood Heights Before/After School Program for three years.

Bernatchez spends her time with her “Little Sister,” Gabrielle Pelky of Auburn, talking, doing homework, playing games and doing puzzles. Pelky is in the first grade at Sherwood Heights School.

Bernatchez is the daughter of Gerry and Stephanie Bernatchez of Auburn.
