LEWISTON – The Lewiston CareerCenter announces the Unemployed Professionals Group speakers and topics for February. The group meets at the CareerCenter every Monday from 1 to 4 p.m.; registration is not required.
Upcoming program topics are:
Feb. 5: “Staying Motivated During Job Search,” with Tim Vrabel, business banking officer, Bangor Savings;
Feb. 12: “Dealing with Wage Negotiation, Difficult Termination/Resignation Issues and Being Overqualified,” with Peter Fitch, human resource director, Lee Auto Malls;
Feb. 19: No meeting, Presidents Day;
Feb. 26: “The Ins and Outs of Applying for State Government Jobs,” with Brian Oliver, personnel specialist, state of Maine.
A Job Club will meet at the CareerCenter every Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Topics vary weekly, but focus on job-search strategy and skills, networking and information sharing. Registration is not required for the Job Club.
Other workshops offered at the CareerCenter include: career decision making, writing a resume, and interviewing skills. Call 753-9005 to register for those workshops and to get additional information.
