HILLSBORO, N.H. (AP) – Police found a hammer inside the home of the man accused of beating his girlfriend to death.
Robert Jenkins, 52, is accused of using the hammer to strike his girlfriend in the skull about 9 p.m. Sunday and leaving her to die. Police found 40-year-old Kristin Roy still alive hours later at her Hoyt Road home, but she died at Concord Hospital.
On Tuesday, the state medical examiner’s office released autopsy results saying Roy’s death was a homicide caused by “multiple blunt impact and chop wounds” to her head. Roy was a divorced mother of three.
Jenkins, her live-in boyfriend, is charged with first-degree murder in Hillsboro District Court. He was being held without bail pending a preliminary hearing on the evidence Feb. 12.
