FARMINGTON – A Jay man pleaded no contest Monday to sexually assaulting a young boy and having unlawful sexual contact with him.

Robert Storer, 69, formerly of 745 Franklin Road, has resided at the Franklin County jail in Farmington since his arrest in September. He hasn’t been able to make the $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 property surety.

Storer did not contest the six gross sexual assault charges and one charge of unlawful sexual contact that he faced.

Charges of visual sexual aggression against a child and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful sexual touching were dismissed by the state.

Assistant District Attorney James Andrews and Storer’s lawyer, David Sanders, both said there was no plea agreement in the case. Storer will be sentenced in the future after a pre-sentencing forensic examination is conducted on him.

Storer had repeated contact with the boy, who is under 8 years old. Storer performed oral sex on the boy and had the boy perform oral sex on him from Sept. 1, 2005, to the beginning of September 2006.

The maximum sentence for each of the gross sexual assault charges is 30 years in prison.

The mother of the child has filed a civil lawsuit against Storer in Superior Court.
