AUBURN – Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp has announced the appointment of two new faculty members.

Kate Dionne has joined the humanities faculty and is teaching writing courses. A native of Augusta, Dionne earned her bachelor of science degree in women’s studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her master of the arts degree in English at Boston College. She is doing doctoral work in composition at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she taught prior to coming to CM.

Maria Hays of Manchester has also joined the CM faculty. Hays earned an associate of science degree in medical lab technology at Massachusetts Bay Community College, a bachelor of science degree in biology from Framingham State College, and a master of science degree in life science at the University of Maryland. She taught previously at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield and has also worked for a biotechnology firm in Massachusetts. She is teaching anatomy and physiology and nutrition.
