AUBURN – “Taller Than Truth: Tales of Paul Bunyan & Other Big Folks,” a musical production especially well-suited to children of all ages, will be presented by the Central Maine Community College Lakeside Players Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24.

The story revolves around a group of people touring Maine who land in front of a Paul Bunyan statue and then go on a wonderful adventure, courtesy of books at a nearby library.

This marks only the fourth time the show has been presented, according to director Mitchell Clyde Thomas, who co-wrote the show with the late Judy Walker.

Some of the musical numbers in the show include “Tell Me a Story,” “Paul Bunyan’s Theme,” “World of the Library,” and “Taller than Truth.”

The cast includes Lisa J. Patton, Jasmin Richards, Lali Patton and Ayo Songobunmi of Livermore Falls; Andy Rodrigue of Portland; Sarah Palmer of Steuben; Tammy and Sarah Carpenter of Litchfield; Phil Vampatella of New Gloucester; and Hayden and Elias Thomas of Durham. Thomas is also pianist for the production.

The show will be staged at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 and at 1 p.m. Feb. 24 in Kirk Hall Auditorium on the CMCC campus. Admission is free.
