ORONO (AP) – Marqus Blakely scored 24 points and Mike Trimboli added 21 as Vermont beat Maine 90-75 Wednesday.
The Catamounts won their eighth in a row while avenging their only conference loss of the season.
The Black Bears (11-15, 6-8) fell victim to a 9-0 run that broke a 35-35 tie to end the first half.
Vermont poured in on early in the second half and led by double digits the rest of the way. The closest Maine came was 69-59 with just under 10:00 play, thanks to 12 straight points from Chris Bruff.

Martin Klimes and Chris Holm each had double-doubles for the Catamounts, who thrived off of a commanding 54-25 edge on the boards.
