I am writing to express my support for Larry Gilbert, a candidate for Lewiston mayor. Gilbert made a big impact on my life, though he may not know it. I was in grade school when I met him. He was acting chief of the Lewiston Police Department at the time, and he was always so encouraging and sincere.

He helped me see that nothing in life is impossible and gave me the support to follow my dreams. I have never forgotten, nor do I intend to, all his wonderful words of wisdom that over the years have helped to shape me into the adult woman I am now.

He made me want to work 10 times harder at everything I was doing, and for that I will be forever grateful.
