On Mon. Jan. 29, Bishop Richard Malone visited Trinity Catholic Middle School after we celebrated a mass in honor of Catholic Schools Week. At the mass we had beautiful cantering by the Trinity catholic Elementary and Middle Schools and readings about meaningful subjects. The homily touched many hearts I’m sure. We also discussed the difference between Catholic schools and public schools. After we came back to school Bishop Malone came and talked to us more about what we had learned this year.
After that we had a chance to ask him any question we wanted. One of the questions was, “Do you like the Red Sox?” His answer was yes, and he jokingly told us that he had faith that the Yankees fans would see the error of their ways and convert. The students enjoyed their time with the Bishop, getting to know him better and understanding more about the Catholic faith. It was only the first of 5 days of Catholic schools week, and so much more was on its way.
