Seniors to meet

RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Citizens will meet at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the Senior Center, 20 Congress St. All members are asked to attend to help with choosing new board members.

Story hour

MEXICO – Preschool story and craft hours will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Mexico Public Library will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with the following stories: “The Cat in the Hat,” “Green Eggs and Ham” and “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” all by Dr. Seuss, and “Alice the Fairy” by David Shannon. The craft will be “cat in the hat.” Ages 2 to 5 are welcome.

New program

DIXFIELD – The Ludden Memorial Library will sponsor a new after-school program, “Homework and Craft Time,” with Cindy Martel. It will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesdays starting Feb. 27 in the library community room.

The hour-and-a-half program is free and is for elementary and middle school students. Parents are welcome but do not need to be present. No preregistration is necessary. If school is canceled, the program will be also.

Book club meeting

DIXFIELD – The Ludden Memorial Library Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the downstairs community room.

“Saving Grace” by Sarah Brady will be discussed. Also to be discussed will be any reading that members are doing and would like to share with the rest of the group. All are welcome.

Class luncheon

MEXICO – Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Far East.

Celtic art topic

WILTON – Phil McIntyre will perform and speak about Celtic arts at a gathering of the Western Mountain Women’s Connection on Tuesday, March 6, at the Boiler Room. Guest speaker will be Ken Wagstaff from Stonecroft Village Missionary in Andover. Men are welcome to attend the meeting of the local chapter of Christian Women’s Club.
