Maine College Republicans took to the streets of Lewiston on Feb. 17 for an anti-tax rally at Bates College to raise awareness of high tax rates in Maine and their effects on young people. More than 40 rallying students, who were attending the Youth Leadership School, the flagship program of the Leadership Institute, created homemade signs with slogans such as “Maine: #1 in Taxes.”
