LEWISTON – The Maine Family Federal Credit Union has been selected as the 2007 Frankie Award winner by the Credit Union Journal.
The national competition seeks to honor the credit union that does the best job of telling the credit union story.
Maine Family FCU of Lewiston was selected for its “Every Step of the Way” campaign of member stories explaining how the credit union helped them or their families with “steps” in their lives. Members who met with one of the credit union’s six financial services associates from June through August 2006 wrote down their experiences on paper feet, which decorated MFFCU’s main office in Lewiston and a branch in Auburn.
In all, more than 250 members shared their stories on everything from turning around their lives financially to fixing up their house to fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a motorcycle. Those stories also became the basis for advertising and educational efforts.
