The issue: The town will be holding elections for selectmen, school board and water district seats. Mark Duquette and Stephen J. Wood are running for additional terms as selectmen. They’re challenged by Paul Wayne Loesberg. Mark Fournier is the sole candidate for an open seat on the school board. Loretta M. Kinkley is running unchallenged for the Sabattus Sanitary Water District. Ballots will be available at the town office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Three foreclosures
The issue: The town is still working to collect about $75,000 in delinquent taxes from 66 residents. There are three foreclosures on the town books, though two are expected to be paid within the week.
Extensive truck repair
The issue: Acting Road Commissioner Gary LaBonte presented selectmen with a list of repairs needed for Public Works Department trucks. The department’s mechanic will complete most repairs, though the loader will require about $2,400 in service costs.
New fees
The issue: Selectmen were told that the planning board approved new fees for site plans and subdivisions.

New plumbing inspector
The issue: Selectmen appointed Gary Campbell as the town’s new plumbing inspector. He will replace William Parquette, who retired this year.

Sheriff support
The issue: Selectmen voted to write a letter of support for Androscoggin Sheriff Guy P. Desjardins, who has come under recent fire by county commissioners for hiring an additional deputy.
New town reports
The issue: Sections of the town report on property owners were duplicated during printing. The printer will make additional sheets available at the town office and during Saturday’s town meeting.
Library expansion bids
The issue: Bids for the Julia Adams Morse library expansion are being collected. The bidders should have applications in by March 19.
