Meeting delayed

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting, scheduled for 7 a.m. today in the Androscoggin Bank Building, has been postponed until Friday, March 9. The location and program speaker will remain as planned.

Parent night

JAY – There will be an eighth-grade parent night at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the high school library. Guidance counselors will discuss the transition to high school. Faculty members will also present an overview of the high school curriculum.

Student-led tours of the high school will be available for interested parents from 5 to 5:30. For more information and/or questions, call the Jay High School Guidance Office at 897-4336.

Club supper

NEW VINEYARD – The New Vineyard North Snowmobile Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Smith Hall, with a potluck supper preceding the business meeting. All are welcome.

Reporter training

SALEM – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will offer mandated reporter training from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Mt. Abram High School library.

The cost will be $15 for the first person per agency and $10 for each additional person. Topics will include understanding the roles and responsibilities of a being a mandated reporter under Maine law, identifying indicators and risk factors of child abuse and/or neglect and how to make a report if abuse and/or neglect are suspected.

Father/daughter dance

JAY – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will hold its 16th annual father/daughter dance from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Jay High School cafeteria.

Anyone wishing to purchase advance tickets may do so at Mickey’s Hallmark in Farmington or the Flower Barn and Riverside Quick Stop in Jay. One ticket covers father and daughter(s).

This year’s event is sponsored by Otis Federal Credit Union, with music by DJ Griffin Couture and prizes. Cost for tickets is $9 in advance and $10 at the door.
