Lander has been dressing up in homemade costumes and has added to her collection of “Cat in the Hat” accessories in her Auburn classroom for the past few years on what is commonly referred to as “Cat in the Hat Day.” On Thursday, teachers and students around the world celebrated the 10th anniversary of the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of “Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss.
