Dear Sun Spots: Writers! Survivors! Let your voices be heard.

We are looking for your short essays and stories, poetry, black-and-white photographs and other original works for including in “Stone Soup for the Survivor’s Spirit.”


The Sexual Assault Crisis Center is publishing our spring edition of this newsletter, shortly. It is created by survivors of all forms of sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse.

“Stone Soup for the Survivor’s Spirit” is a forum for the voices of survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their allies to share their feelings, thoughts, memories and insights. The next edition will be published in April as one of our many projects during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.


Please submit short essays, stories, poetry, black and white photographs and any other original works for inclusion in this publication. Submissions must be received by March 16, and must include the name and contact information for the author/creator.

We reserve the right to edit submissions as deemed necessary for space and content reasons. While acknowledging possible confidentiality and safety concerns, every effort will be made to contact authors/creators whose work is edited. Please include information regarding the safest way to leave a message should we need to contact you with editing concerns.

Submissions without name and contact information cannot be considered for the newsletter. However, you may specify that you wish to identify yourself with first name or initials in the publication.

In addition to responses from readers, previous writers have had some success in locating this brand name in their local Wal-Mart store. You might also consider checking with them to see if you have any success.

Dear Sun Spots: I hope to give away six Pack-O-Fun craft books from 1974 if someone can use them.

I also have a lot of new ones in the packages with 10-inch zippers, metal, closed on both ends. They are from the 1940s and were for the sides of a lady’s dress but are good for fabric handbags.
