PARIS – The Paris Department of Parks and Recreation has announced plans to host an art show and festival at historic Moore Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

The festival, which will be called “Moore Art – In the Park,” will feature at least 70 artists and artisans on the grounds all day, with revolving music and other performance arts in the gazebo, food vendors and a kids’ corner adjacent to the already-existing playground.

Artists interested in exhibiting at the show may do so for $40; festival application forms will be available beginning Monday, March 12, at the Paris Town Office, at the Painted Mermaid Art Gallery in South Paris, on the Web at http://town.paris.me.us/rec.html, and at other local venues.

Artists interested in performing at the festival should contact the Paris Department of Parks and Recreation. Call Kelsey Jewell, Paris Parks and Recreation director, at 743-2501, ext. 107, for more information.
