DOVER, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire set a cold weather record on Tuesday, now the coldest-ever March day on the books.
The temperature fell to 7 degrees in Concord on March 6, breaking the previous coldest-ever record of 11 degrees on March 3, 1950.
The cold weather was unusual for its late date. Usually New Hampshire gets these low temperatures earlier in winter, said state climatologist David Brown.
National Weather Service meteorologists say the worst of this week’s cold snap is over, although it is expected to last until the weekend.
Until then safety and weather officials advise bundling up while outdoors.
