MEXICO – The Teen Center, located in the Mexico Rec Center, will reopen its doors on Monday, March 12, after being closed for the past month. Liz Penney is the newly hired coordinator of the center.

Sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, the Teen Center is a safe place for children in grades six to 12 to go after school.

The center offers kids a variety of activities, including air hockey, foosball and ping pong. There is also a place for kids to sit, relax and hang out with friends or do homework.

In working closely with schools and organizations in the area, staff hopes to expand the program and involve kids in social activities, fostering a positive environment.

The center will be open from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 2:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays.

Anyone interested in donating or volunteering is asked to contact Penney at 364-7408 or e-mail rvhcc@gwi.net.
