Youth supper

OXFORD – The Oxford Congregational Church Youth Group will have a St. Patrick’s Day supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 17, to benefit the Boston trip in June. The meal will be held at the church on King Street. Live music will be provided by Skip Foley. Cost is $7 for adults; $4 for children age 5 to 10; free for children under 5.

Seniors to meet

PARIS – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at Market Square Restaurant, South Paris. Dinner will be chosen from the menu, and each person is asked to bring an item for a silent auction. New members and guests are welcome.

Book discussion

WOODSTOCK – A discussion on “Yeh Yeh’s House,” the One Book/One Community selection, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Whitman Memorial Library. Bob and Cil Rice, who have traveled to China, will lead the discussion and will share insights. The free program is open to the public.

Project Grad

PARIS – A meeting will be held on Project Graduation for all seniors and their parents at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Room E118. Comments and suggestions are encouraged.

Trio to appear

SUMNER – The Rev. Nancy Miaoulis has announced that the Congregational Church of East Sumner will host folk trio Ti’Acadie at a St. Patrick’s potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 16.

Ti’Acadie will perform a concert and contra dance at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. The charge for the concert is $2 for adults, proceeds to benefit the Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters. Society program

WEST PARIS – The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Heritage Center. A brief business meeting will be followed by a program on saunas, presented by Tooty Wilson. A coffee social will follow. The public is welcome.

Region meeting

BETHEL – The sponsors of the Brookings Report are inviting residents to attend a regional town meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Bethel Inn Conference Center to discuss how to build sustainable prosperity in Maine. GrowSmart Maine is organizing similar meetings in every Senate district in Maine during the next few months.

Bridge play

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met March 9 at the Fare Share Commons, Main Street, when a 3 table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Barbara and Paul Beegel, tied with Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran; first in Flight B, Barbara and Paul Beegel; second, Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran. In Flight C finishing first were Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.

A game will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 16. All bridge players are welcome, and refreshments are provided. For information, call Les Buzzell 783-4153. A partner is guaranteed.
