PARIS – Entrepreneurial women from the area will gather here Thursday for the Women’s Business Expo.
The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Four Seasons Function Center. It is hosted by the Western Maine Women’s Network, one of four chapters of the Maine Women’s Network.
The organization’s mission, stated on its Web site, is to provide a resource “for building professional and personal relationships among women who want to connect and make a difference – in the workplace, in the community, and across the state.”
The expo will feature exhibits from women-owned businesses in the Oxford Hills and surrounding area. Though the Network originally promoted 25 participating businesses, Chapter Chairwoman Rebecca Dowse said more businesses are signing up at the last minute. Dowse predicts that 30 businesses will attend, maxing out the capacity of the venue.
The event is open to the public at no charge. Visitors may sign up to be eligible for prize drawings, which will include gift certificates, a photo shoot from KDC Portrait Studio in Norway, and a CD from spiritualist Raven Star Merrill.
