One of my family’s best friends died because of the city of Lewiston’s lack of concern for a serious safety issue. Jeannine Morin was a person who would go out of her way to help anyone. She helped my mom after my dad died.
It doesn’t matter what caused the crash. She died from hypothermia. The city was so concerned with beautifying the canal area, they ignored safety issues. Now my friend is gone. I am sure now, in light of all the press on this terrible accident, they will install guardrails.
It’s too bad it took another death before action was taken.
To the city council, I have only one thing to say:
Never mind waiting to find out why the accident happened. Install the guardrails now.
