BETHEL – The snowmobile trails in and around the Oxford Hills area were humming with more than 50 machines that ended up at Telstar Regional High School for a lunch on March 4.

The Windham Drifters, Bog Hooters, Otisfield Trailblazers and the Snow Hoppers snowmobile clubs attended the ride along with special guest rider Doug Rafferty from WGME-13, who rides every year.

“We had over 75 people join us at the high school for lunch and through their efforts, as well as those of our wonderful trail sponsors, raised $11,600 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. C.N. Brown Co. would also like to extend congratulations to Dana Chaplin, who won the 2007 Arctic Cat snowmobile,” said Mark Cyr of C.N. Brown.

Ann Marie Tucker, district director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, said, “Special thanks needs to go to Colby’s Arctic Cat, Telstar High School and Citgo for the part they played in this very successful event. Also, thanks to all of the C.N. Brown employees who volunteered their time to help put on this event, before, day of and afterwards. There is a lot of preparation needed for this annual event, so it would be impossible to list everyone involved, but do know that if you were a volunteer or participant your efforts are greatly appreciated.”

C.N. Brown operates Big Apple Food Stores, Service Stations and Red Shield Heating Oil throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
