NORWAY – Healthy Oxford Hills, Community Concepts and River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition invites residents to be a part of a substance abuse task force.

As part of Maine’s Strategic Prevention framework program, Oxford County has been asked to develop a county-wide prevention plan to address the risks and consequences of substance abuse.

The group is in the process of presenting the county-wide substance abuse needs assessment to communities during March and April. It also needs to develop a strategic plan during this timeframe and has organized meetings for six Mondays: March 19, April 2, 9, 23 and 30 and May 10.

The meetings will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the community room at the Norway Town Office and lunch will be served.

Members are asking for input on how to best direct Oxford County efforts in the implementation of the strategic plan against substance abuse.
