NEW GLOUCESTER – Rebeccah Schaffner has been confirmed by selectmen this week as the town’s full-time planner. She begins her duties on March 26.

Schaffner holds a master’s degree in community planning and development from the University of Southern Maine’s Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service.

Most recently, Schaffner was employed by Holt and Lachman Architects and Planners of Portland. She has served as newsletter editor of the Maine Association of Planners.

She replaces Amanda Stearns who resigned last December.
