RANGELEY – A truck in a ditch near the Dallas Plantation line early Thursday led police to the owner, who is now accused of drunken driving.

The vehicle was reported off the road about 2 a.m. that day. Rangeley officer Jared Austin did some investigative work and located the man Austin says was driving the vehicle at his residence, about a half-mile from the scene, on Harold Ross Road in Dallas Plantation.

Michael Tully, 48, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, Austin said.

It was unknown why Tully crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and went into the ditch, the officer said.

After Tully crashed the older-style pickup, Austin said, he walked home.

He located the man about a half-hour after the accident and conducted some field sobriety tests, which led to the charge, Austin said.
