FARMINGTON – The fourth annual Farmington Rotary Club “Price is Right” game is returning this year with a Hawaiian theme where the cast – local residents – will wear tropical garb and contestants from the audience will be “called on down” to guess the price of top merchandise and win prizes.

The show will start at 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Mt. Blue High School auditorium with club President Paul Mills as the master of ceremonies. This is one of the club’s major fundraisers of the year, with profits donated to more than 25 community service programs.

The show will feature take-offs of familiar Price is Right games that club members have built themselves, such as the queen of hearts, plinko, the yodeler, the ring toss, punch-out and the finale, wheel of chance, that features a showcase worth between $2,000 and $3,000.

Members of the Mt. Blue High School Rotary Interact Club and the University of Maine at Farmington’s Rotary Rotaract Club will also be in costume as they display merchandise, sell extra game tickets and refreshments.

Final showcase prizes change each year. “It is a lot of fun, and the audience loves it,” said committee chairman Clayton King.

Tickets are $8, or $10 at the door, and are available at Mickey’s Hallmark on Main Street.

The club raised more than $12,000 last year to help local organizations and individuals. For more information about joining Rotary, contact Mills at 778-3521.
