WESTBROOK – There’ll be a whole lot of absurdity going on later this month at Warren Memorial Library Auditorium in Reindeer Theatre Company’s upcoming children’s production of “The Mayor, Mad Doctor Zing, Pollywogs and Other Absurd Tales.”

The show is actually a collection of eight miniplays that features 19 young actors portraying a total of 45 wild and wacky characters. The production is being directed by Louis Philippe with assistance from Ellen and Mark Munson of Westbrook, who bring an extensive theater background to the Reindeer stage. Fourteen-year-old Andrew Silver of Westbrook is youth director.

The show runs for two weekends: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 23, 24 and 25, and then again March 30, 31 and April 1. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m.; Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m.

The auditorium is on the second floor of the library at 492 Main St. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children under 18. For reservations or more information, call Reindeer at 857-9002.
