LEWISTON – L/A Arts’ second serving of Art and Java goes up at Barnie’s Coffee and Tea Co. today and will remain on the wall through April 26. This exhibit, titled “Of Life and Death,” features photography by Maurice A. Collins (aka Tony).

A Lewiston native and resident, Collins is a family man with a passion for the subjects he photographs. Flowers, pets and Gothic images are his main interests and are represented in the Art and Java exhibit. All pieces in the exhibit are available for purchase, through L/A Arts.

Collins and his wife, Allyson, have three children and a granddaughter, all of Lewiston.

The couple’s four dogs, four cats and their belief in a humane community intensified Collins’ passion to give back to the homeless animals in this community. Proceeds from the sale of his pet and animal photography are donated to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society.

Art and Java is yet another avenue through which L/A Arts fulfills its mission of integrating the arts into the fabric of life in this community.
