Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin will hold 12 hours of tutor-training workshops from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, March 31 and April 14, at the Great Falls School in Auburn. LV has waiting lists for all its literacy programs, so volunteer opportunities are available. Requirements are a 12th-grade reading level and a commitment to meet with an adult learner for a minimum of an hour a week for a year. For more information, call 753-1772. On the right is Linda Connelly with her former student, Mina Chadwick, who now has her high school diploma and is participating in the family literacy program with her grandchildren.
