I would like to thank the media for getting the pet food recall story out quickly, before more damage was done. What is most upsetting to me, though, was Menu Foods’ decision to conduct another “taste test,” rather than testing the tainted food in a lab. The story said the company tested 40-50 more animals, which killed seven.
I guess I should be thankful that Menu Foods does not sell baby food.
Why wasn’t laboratory testing done, instead of just taking more lives? That illogical move to taste test and kill more animals proves to me that the Menu Foods company cares more about the bottom dollar then animal lives.
If Gerber had been accused of tainted baby food and innocent lives had been lost, do you think the company would have rounded up another 40 or 50 babies to taste test it? I doubt it.
Common sense also dictates that conscientious consumers should not support this kind of company. There are companies that are more concerned with a pet’s health than bottom dollar.
It makes me wonder if ethics is taught at all anymore in business.
I hope that my message will spread: Don’t support a company that tosses lives away.
