Congregational Church

MEXICO – Maundy Thursday services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Congregational Church, Main Street. A “meager meal” of soup and bread will be offered in the Fellowship Hall downstairs to be followed by a service of communion around the table, with special music from the choir.

Evangelical churches

MEXICO – A Good Friday service will be presented at 6 p.m. Friday, April 6, by the River Valley Union of Evangelical Churches at the First Baptist Church, Roxbury Road. The topic will be the “Seven Last Words of Christ.” For more information, call Pastor Bob Peters at 364-8712 or 364-8850.

Ecumenical service

MEXICO – An ecumencial Easter service will be held at 6 a.m. Sunday, April 8, at the middle school, Highland Terrace Road, with leadership provided by the Congregational Church of Christ. All are welcome

Breakfast will follow at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Brown Street. In case of heavy rain or snow, the service will be held in church sanctuary, with breakfast to follow downstairs.

There will be a 10 a.m. Easter Sunday worship at the “Green Church” on Main Street with special music by the choir, There will be a special message for the children with a surprise, plus a family message titled “Why are You Weeping?” will be given by the Rev. Virginia Snapp-Cunningham. The public is invited.

Sunrise service

BETHEL – An Easter sunrise service will be held Sunday, April 8, at the top of Sunday River’s Locke Mountain, followed by a visit from the Easter Bunny.
