AUGUSTA (AP) – Two Maine Superior Court justices, Nancy Mills and Ellen Gorman, were nominated to new terms on Thursday by Gov. John Baldacci.

Mills, of Cornville, has served on the Superior Court since 1993 and was chief justice on the bench between 2001 and 2004. She has also been a District Court judge and an assistant district attorney in Kennebec and Somerset counties.

Gorman, of Auburn, has served on the Court since 2000. She previously was a judge in Maine District Court for 11 years. Gorman also worked for the Maine Workers Compensation Commission and has been a member of the Judicial Education Committee.

The nominations must be reviewed by the Legislature’s Judiciary Committee and confirmed by the state Senate.
