Scholarship Night
LISBON – Lisbon High School will hold its annual Scholarship Night from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, in the cafeteria. Seniors and their parents are invited to attend. Representatives from local organizations offering scholarships will be present to distribute applications to interested students. For more information, call the guidance office at 353-3030.
Lodge meeting
WALES – Webster Lodge 164, AF and AM, 322 Centre Road, will hold a special communication at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, to confer the Master Mason’s Degree. A 6:30 supper will precede the meeting. All Master Masons are welcome.
Grange speaker
POLAND – Agriculture at the Shaker Community in New Gloucester will be subject of the program at Excelsior Grange, 446 Harris Hill Road, on Saturday, April 7.
Brother Arnold Hadd, a member of the Shakers for some 30 years, will be present to tell the history of agricultural enterprises, past and present. The program will be open to the public beginning at 7:30 p.m. The business meeting will follow.
As a community service project, Excelsior Grange 5 will sponsor a smothered beef dinner at the hall on Harris Hill Road on Sunday, April 15.
Proceeds will be donated to the Mechanic Falls Library to help recovery following the acts of vandalism there recently. Dinner will be served from noon to 1:30 p.m. for $7, adults and $2.50, children under 12. The hall is handicapped accessible with a ramp at the rear entrance.
Hummel meeting
LEWISTON – Nor’easter Maine Chapter, M. I. Hummel Collectors Club, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Anyone interested in Hummels is welcome, as are new members. Thursday service
HEBRON – The Hebron Community Baptist Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the sanctuary. On April 8, Easter Sunday, a sunrise service will take place at 6 a.m. at the new home of Dana and Susan Lejonhud at 131 Station Road. For details, call 966-2694.
Welcome home
LEWISTON – Holy Cross Church of Lewiston is offering a six-week series to “Welcome Home” Catholics or anyone interested in learning about the Catholic faith.
