NORWAY – Christ Episcopal Church, 35 Paris St., will offer the following services for Holy Week and Easter Day:
Maundy Thursday, celebration of Jesus’ last supper, 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5; Good Friday, St. John’s Passion Gospel, Holy Eucharist, 7 p.m. Friday, April 6; Great Vigil, first service of Easter beginning in the dark and ending in the light of resurrection, 8 p.m. Saturday, April 7; Holy Eucharist and music, 8 a.m. Sunday, April 8; Holy Eucharist, choir, nursery child care, 10 a.m. Sunday, April 8. First Universalist Church
NORWAY – Easter services at the First Universalist Church will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 8, led by the Rev. Helen Zidowecki, youth minister for the Northeast District, UUA, and frequent contributer to services at the Norway church.
Worshipers may also join the sister church, the First Universalist Church, West Paris, in a sunrise service at 6 a.m. followed by breakfast at the church on Main Street in West Paris. The sunrise service will be held at the home of Ray and MaryAnn Brown at the top of Perham Road off High Street. The service will be led by Joe Perham.
First Universalist Church, Norway, Unitarian Universalist, located at 479 Main St. Child care is provided at the 11 a.m. service.
First Congregational Church
PARIS – First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris, has announced Holy Week services. On Friday, April 6, area churches will hold a Good Friday Walk of the Cross at 1 p.m. at the Norway Universalist Unitarian Church, Upper Main Street.
It will process to the Second Congregational, Christ Episcopal, St. Catherine’s, Deering Memorial, First Congregational and conclude at Trinity Lutheran, South Paris.
Easter sunrise services will be held at 6 a.m. Sunday, April 8, at Brimstone Corner on the East Oxford Road, South Paris. Call for directions if needed. Parishioners will join with Deering Memorial and Second Congregational for the brief welcome of the Easter sunrise followed by a combined breakfast after the services at Second Church in Norway.
The 10 a.m. worship service is open to all who want to celebrate. The Easter story from scripture will be read and the Rev. Don Mayberry will talk about the importance of moving beyond belief and into allowing beliefs to shape everyday lives.

Oxford County United Parish
WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig invites members and friends of the Oxford County United Parish churches in North Waterford and Stoneham to join in services for Holy Week. A Maundy Thursday supper will be held at 6 p.m. April 5 at the North Waterford Church vestry. The supper will be followed by a Tenebre service and holy communion.
On Easter Sunday a sunrise service will be jointly conducted with Waterford Congregational Church at 6:15 a.m. April 8 at Keoka Lake town beach, followed by Easter breakfast at the Wilkins House next to the Waterford Congregational Church, Plummer Hill Road. An Easter Sunday worship service will be held at 10 a.m. at the North Waterford Congregational Church.
