CHESTERVILLE – The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers group is a nonprofit organization focused on educational enhancement and on providing service projects to enrich the lives of the community.

The Homemakers sponsor local Brownie and Girl Scout troops, collect donations for the Franklin County Animal Shelter, sew positioning pillows for nearby nursing homes or rehabilitation centers, work in cooperation with other Extension groups to decorate a tree for the Chester Greenwood Festival of Trees to be auctioned off for charity and provide educational programs.

The programs are varied to meet the needs of members and are always open to the public. Each year members have a fundraiser to acquire the money necessary to provide the services for the community.

Members will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, to plan a rummage/bake sale to be held sometime in May to earn money for next year’s programs. Everyone is welcome to share their ideas on how to make it a successful endeavor. The meeting will be held at the Chesterville Town Office, Dutch Gap Road. For more information, call 778-3156.
