GARDINER – Guitarist/pianist Roger Latzgo of Pennsylvania will perform Friday, April 6, as part of the Sounds Good! music series at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center.

This is Latzgo’s first New England tour and his only Maine appearance. Accompanying himself on piano and guitar, Latzgo’s style, called “ethnofunkology,” is a blend of folk music and jazz. In his repertoire are songs of celebration, adventure and triumph.

His latest foray into composition sets Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost poetry to his original music.

This year, Latzgo’s musical path takes him from the tango halls of Buenos Aires to stages of Musikfest in Bethlehem.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the arts center, 280 Water St.

Tickets are $10, $4 for students with IDs required. Johnson Hall is partnering with Gardiner Main Street and several restaurants in Gardiner in the “Sounds Good! Tastes Good!” offer. FMI: 582-7144, [email protected] or www.johnsonhall.org.
