If you’re hanging a picture, here are a couple of things you should know before you hammer a picture-hook nail into the wall. Heat it first with a match. It’ll go in easier and won’t chip or crack plaster.

Before you hang a picture, turn it over and put stick-on rubber bumpers on each corner or a bead of silicone caulk. Then let it dry well before hanging. You can even roll up masking tape inside-out and put it on each corner. Then when you hang it and line it up, these items will help keep the frame straight and level.
