HARRISON – A man called the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Saturday to report that he had discovered a burglary in progress.

Deputies responded at 2:50 p.m. to the home on Norway Road in Harrison when a man found a male inside his residence. The suspect fled on foot.

Deputies followed the suspect to an apartment at Crystal Heights in Harrison.

There they arrested Lawrence R. Tibbetts, 36, of apartment 2 Crystal Heights, and charged him with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and warrants for failure to a pay fine and operating after suspension.

Tibbetts is being held at Cumberland County Jail.
