NEW GLOUCESTER – William D. Andrews, author of “Stealing History,” a Maine mystery set at a busy historical society and museum, will hold an informal chat and sign copies of his book Wednesday, April 18, at the Norway Memorial Library.
Infused with history and delightful characters, “Stealing History” begins soon after newcomer Julie Williamson takes the job of historical society director in a Maine mountain town. Some of the museum’s most valuable artifacts, including a letter from Abraham Lincoln to Hannibal Hamlin, quickly turn up missing.
And, when a murder hits especially close to home for Julie, she becomes embroiled in an ever-widening and complex mystery.
Andrews weaves details of Maine life into a thrilling tale that will keep readers guessing up until the last page. Andrews, former president of Westbrook College in Portland, is a consultant, freelance editor and writer. He divides his time between Newry and Portland.
For more information on the event, contact the library at 743-5309.
The chat and book-signing will run from 3 to 5 p.m. The library is at 258 Main St.
