LEWISTON – The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is inviting the community to its a spring “Litter”bug drive on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society goes through thousands of pounds of cat litter each year, most of which is donated. To ensure that they are able to care for and keep their feline friends comfortable, the shelter invites all “Litter”bugs to donate clay cat litter and help replenish their diminishing supply.

The society provides a haven for more than 4,000 sick, homeless and abused animals in the area a year. The primary support comes from fundraising events and donations of residents.

The society is located at 55 Strawberry Ave. For more information on the kitten shower, items needed for the young animals, the cats and kittens available for adoption or how to become a foster parent and help care for a litter of kittens, call the shelter at 783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org.
