AUBURN – Esther Tucker, Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 of Auburn, deputy president of District 3, Rebekah Assembly of Maine, will preside at the annual district meeting on Saturday, April 14, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane.

Priscilla Campbell, deputy marshal, also of Liberty, will assist her. The session will open at 2 p.m. after a 12:30 p.m. luncheon. To make reservations, call 998-5359.

Tickets are under the direction of Arlene Simons of Liberty and registration, Mercena Abrams of Liberty. Greeters/welcomers will be Sally Fournier and Pat Robichaud of Colfax 27 and Sue and Eric O’Conner of Nina 86. Helen Boisvert of Baileyville, vice president of the Rebekahs Assembly of Maine, will make her official visit.

Officers of Liberty will do the opening and closing ceremonies. They are Diane Treacy, vice grand, filling in for Noble Grand Doreen Locke; Beulah Allen, filling in for the vice grand; Cathy Hunnewell, secretary; Arlene Simons, treasurer; Cynthia Maxwell, financial secretary; Ricky Waisenen, warden; Pam Black, filling in for the conductor.

Also, Esther Tucker, right supporter of the noble grand; Nancy Waisanen, filling in for the left supporter of the noble grand; Margaret Sjostrom, right supporter of the vice grand; Millie Bates, filling in for the left supporter of the vice grand; Thomas MacDonald, outside guardian; Lucy Cowles, inside guardian; Priscilla Campbell, chaplain; Ellen Parady, musician; John Bolduc, color bearer; and Mercena Abrams, junior past noble grand.

The address of welcome will be given by Lucille Nelson, past president of the Rebekah Assembly and a member of Liberty. The response will be given by Pat Rae, last year’s district deputy president.

A special tableau will be presented depicting the program of the president of the Rebekah Assembly, Helen Witham. Songs will be sung by Margaret Sjostrom, past district deputy president. Seventeen projects that are supported by Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Internationally will be outlined.

Donations from the lodges in the district and the Past Noble Grands Association will be presented for the home fund and president’s project. The two tableaux are under the direction of Lucy Cowles, past district deputy president. Boisvert will hold a question-and-answer period. A memorial service will be under the direction of Debbie Smith, noble grand of Nina.

Those attending are encouraged to take items for the exchange table to benefit the president’s project. The table is under the direction of Jean Pepin, noble grand of Colfax, Gail Morgan of Nina and Beulah Allen of Liberty. Rebekahs from all over the state are invited.
