AUGUSTA – State lawmakers remembered their friend and colleague, Rep. Abigail Holman, on Tuesday morning.

Holman, R-Fayette, died after striking a tree at the end of a charity ski race at Sugarloaf/USA on Saturday.

The prayer marking the beginning of the day’s session was offered by Stan Moody, who represented House District No. 83 in the years immediately preceding Holman. Moody is a pastor at the North Manchester Meeting House.

Following tradition, Speaker of the House Glenn Cummings, D-Portland, then read the text of a joint resolution while standing at Holman’s desk.

House Republican Leader Josh Tardy, R-Newport, then shared a personal remembrance of Abby Holman with members of the House.

Holman, who was 45, leaves an 8-year-old daughter.
