MEXICO – The Rumford Association for the Advancement of Performing Arts will hold auditions Tuesday, April 24, for two one-act plays to be performed June 22-24. Auditions will be at 6 p.m. in the lecture hall at the Mountain Valley Middle School.
The plays include “That Was No Lady, That Was a Private Eye,” with roles for six women and four men; and “Comin’ Round the Mountain,” with roles for five women and three men. These roles range from walk-ons to major parts. Perusal scripts are available for reading in the Rumford Library until April 23.
The first chorus rehearsal will be held at 7 p.m. the same evening.
Anyone wishing to sing is encouraged to call Jeannine Murray at 562-4656 to reserve a music folder. Also, since audio cassette tapes are made for each section, everyone should bring a rewound tape to the first rehearsal.
New actors and singers are encouraged to join the group, but previous choral experience is helpful for the chorus because the music is challenging.
If anyone has questions, e-mail Judy Kuhn at [email protected] until April 17, or call her at 364-7242 after April 22.
