PLYMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – The new president of Plymouth State University has been sworn in, saying the school will have new scholarships, new buildings and a new push for diversity on campus and study abroad.

Sara Jayne Steen has been on the job since June, but was formally sworn in Thursday in ceremonies at the school.

Steen announced several goals, including building a complex for athletics and academic and research in health and wellness. She announced new scholarships for students in need, new programs to allow more students to study overseas and increase diversity on campus and having the school play more of a role in the region’s economic development.
