NORTH WATERFORD – Announcement is made of the engagement of Virginia Mauney to Charles MacDonald Jr.

Miss Mauney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mauney of Belmont, N.C. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Gaston College in Dallas, N.C. She is currently employed by Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. MacDonald is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ferrell of Rock Hill, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles MacDonald Sr. of North Waterford. He is a graduate of Indianhand High School in Fort Mill, S.C., and is currently employed by the James River Company in Rock Hill, S.C., in their John Deere Division as a roadside technician.

The wedding will take place on April 21 at 2 p.m. at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in Belmont, N.C. A reception will follow at the Red Fez Club at Lake Wylie, S.C. The couple will travel to Mexico for their wedding trip.
